Shifting Systems
Shifters and derailleurs are in this important system. This is the least
diverse grouping because the big three manufacturers more or less have a monopoly.
Sure, some companies have ventured into the fray with a piece here and there
but there has been a negligible effect on the market share. Aftermarket substitutions
are not viable right now.
The rear derailleur is the big
game of bike components, the front derailleur the most difficult
to dial in properly.

History

store bikes to world-class custom bikes.

Campagnolo
History - Formerly the go-to company. Unchallenged in durability,
beauty, and functionality. All parts were manufactured in their Italian factory
with quality control a number one priority.
Advantages and Disadvantages - The only major component manufacturer that
does not make mountain bike components.
